Client’s FAQ’s

What is the deposit fee?
The deposit fee locks in the date for your session.  This is designed to covered the time set aside specifically for you and your session.  If you cancel your session within 7 days the deposit fee is not transferable and non-refundable.

When is my payment due?
The deposit fee is due before the shoot along with your contract in order to lock in your appointment.  The final payment is due the day of your session if you did not send it along with the deposit fee.  Payments can be either cash, check, or credit/debit card.

Any checks returned with insufficient funds are subject to a $25 processing fee.

What if I want specific locations that may not fit into the time allotted for my session?
I would be happy to take extra time for you to ensure that we get specific locations that are special to you.  Extra time can be discussed per client as each need is different.  Hourly rates that be added to any session.  Please discuss these at the time of booking.

When does the session start?
I am usually early to every session.  The session starts at the time that we discuss.  If you are running late please contact me immediately, and if possible arrangements will be made.  Tardiness will result in less time to capture your images and may result in fewer images provided.

What is your reschedule policy?
Life happens, and you may need to change your session.

If we are forced to reschedule for illness or weather that is outside of our control, then the deposit is transferred to the rescheduled date.  In most instances there are a variety of undercover options that allow us to photograph even when it’s pouring, but this is a case by case basis and we will discuss this if it comes up.  If you cancel your session within 7 days the deposit fee is not transferable and non-refundable.

When will my photos be ready?
A “sneak peek” or teaser will be posted to Facebook and the blog a few days after the session.  All sessions are then completed roughly within 3 weeks during peak season.  I’ll then make arrangements to get the disc to you, as well as discuss additional items/prints you may want to order.  If you have a special circumstance and need them sooner, I will make every effort to expedite the editing in order to provide you with photos.  Please let me know in advance if there is a rush so I can schedule my time accordingly.

How many photos do I get?
Portrait sessions include at least 25 photos.

How long do you keep my photos?
Photos are kept on my hard drive for a total of 6 months.  Ultimately it is the responsibility of the client to protect & back up their images once they are delivered.

Tips for children
If your session involves children there are a few things that help to ensure your children have a great time and your session is stress fee.  Make sure that they are rested and fed.  Children should be appropriately dressed and well groomed prior to the session.

For large shoots involving multiple families make sure to bring snacks for your kiddos to keep them going.

What should I wear?
Typically this will be discussed before the session, but for some ideas check out my Pinterest What to Wear” board.  Try to keep clothing to a similar theme or color pallette.  I usually suggest keeping it to 3 colors at the most.  You can add variety by choosing different shades, patterns, or accessories.  Remember also to dress for the weather and/or season.

I can always help if it is a baby or child session by having you bring up to 5 outfits and we can decide at the shoot what the best outfits are.

Do you photograph pets?
Yes! I have had many sessions involving the family pup.  Please note that pets can sometimes be unpredictable or unmanageable, and while every effort is given to capture your furry friend they are not a guarantee.

All dogs must come wearing a collar and leash (unless we are inside your home) in case they need to be held off camera. Small treats and a small squeaky toy is a great way to get your dog’s attention, so bring their favorite.

Cancellation
Notification of cancellation my be received a least 1 week prior to the scheduled session date.  You can reschedule for the next available time, and your deposit will still go toward your final payment.  Cancellations less than 1 week from session date are subject to forfeit the deposit.

Terms & Policies
All proofing is done via a private online gallery.  Ordering is conducted by e-mail, phone or in person.  Payment is due in full when order is placed.  Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express are all accepted, as well as cash or check.  All images remain the property of Courtney Ann Photography.  Prices and Policies are subject to change without notice.  Please email CourtneyAnnPhotography@gmail.com for additional details.
